Bring Your Own Basket and Blanket: Our First Community Picnic

One way we seek to foster a sense of community within the school is by hosting fun events for the children and their families to enjoy. The Saturday after school started, many of our current and former families gathered for our first community picnic held out on the corner of Galloway and Evergreen. It was a Bring Your Own Basket and Blanket event, and it was a great time for our new families as well as those who have been with us for the past two years to get to know each other. The children enjoyed impromptu games of kickball, frisbee and soccer.  Our families also enjoyed tasty pops from local tasty treat providers, MemPops.

We are thankful for the opportunity to fellowship with students and their families, and we look forward to more opportunities to strengthen our community.

The staff and community of Midtown Montessori are preparing for the coming school year, and each new day fills us with optimism and excitement.

We welcome the readers of this blog, whether they are parents in our community, fellow Memphians, or people who just want to know more about Montessori (or Memphis). Look around our site and learn about our community and mission. Perhaps, think about how you might fit into our vision of making Memphis a more creative, compassionate and peaceful place.

As the dust settles in both our real and virtual spaces, we're looking forward to connecting with you in the months to come.
